OBITUARY

DIED--March 13, 1883. Mrs. Sarah Jane Abrams, aged 53 years, 10 months and 22 days. Mrs. Abrams was born in Madison county, Indiana, June 26, 1829, and at the age of 23 years she was united in marriage to Joseph ABrams with whom she has journeyed through life, for 31 years. In 1853 Mr. Abrams moved from Indiana to Madison county, Iowa, where they resided until the year 1877 when they moved to Cowley county, Kansas. Mrs. Abrams has been an invalid for two years, and nothing but the strongest of will and a naturally strong constitution could have endured so long what she has suffered. The 6th of December she came to Winterset to remain with Mrs. Brown, her sister to receive treatment, which was of three months duration, and on Tuesday of last week she passed from this world of suffering to the land of peace and rest, leaving her husband and five children-one boy and four girls, all grown, and the community who have enjoyed her association and upright Christian character, to mourn their loss.

Note: Burial was made in the Powell cemetery.
