OLIVER "OLLIE" MALONE, Earlham

Oliver "Ollie" Malone, 77, of Earlham, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2007.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, September 9, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation with family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, September 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Earlham Cemetery.

Memorials to the family.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Darlene; children, Rick Malone of West Des Moines, Terry Malone of Reasnor, and Annette Howell of Earlham.

Oliver “Ollie” Malone, 77, of Earlham, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset where Pastor Earl Menning will officiate. A visitation with family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Earlham Cemetery with military honors performed by the American Legion Post 158 of Earlham.

Ollie was born September 11, 1929 in Kenwood, Iowa to Everett and Edna (Kroll) Malone. His marriage to Darlene Foshe took place on October 21, 1950 and to this union they were blessed with three children, Rick, Terry, and Annette. Together they lived and raised their kids in Granger, Iowa. They celebrated over 56 years as husband and wife.

Ollie was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He was always very active in church. He worked for numerous dairies over the years, including Hiland, Flynn, Bordens, and Anderson Erickson, until his retirement in 1985. Ollie was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, puzzles, trains, bird watching and woodworking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family at Pioneer Place Apartments.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Darlene; two sons, Rick Malone and wife, Julie of West Des Moines; Terry Malone and wife, Lori of Reasnor; a daughter, Annette Howell and husband, Jeff of Earlham; siblings, Bea Malone, Bev Olson, Barb Leisinger, Del Kroll, Larry Malong, and Mike Malone; seven grandchildren, Josh Malone, Lindsay Malone, A.J. Malone, Alex Malone, Kelsey Howell, Katie Howell, and Lanson Howell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, and his beloved dog, Sparky.
