DAVID VAN ROSSUM
The funeral of David Van Rossum was held in the M. E. church last Friday. A large crowd was in attendance, and his remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.
Mr. Van Rossum and Frank Miller had been in southern Missouri for some two weeks looking up a land deal. They had gone in Mr. Miller's car and were returning home. When about 150 miles south of St. Louis, near a small town named De Soto, the steering wheel broke, the car ran off a bridge into a deep ditch on a rock. Mr. Van Rossum was killed and Mr. Miller had two ribs broken and was otherwise injured. The accident happened on last Monday.
