Page 1, Column 1Milton J. Hall was born in Jefferson county, Iowa April 25th, 1842 and died in Winterset, Iowa, March 18th, 1904. During his entire life he had been a resident of the state of Iowa. Nearly thirty years ago he came to Warren county and settled on a farm in the vicinity of Indianola. In the spring of 1897 he was married to Almira Gillet and the two began their married life together on a farm in Madison county in the vicinity of St. Charles. During the month of last December they disposed of their farm and had since been visiting with friends and relatives at various points in the state.
Mrs. Hall is a sister of J. A. Way of this place, at whose home she and her husband were visiting when the deceased suffered a severe attack of heart failure to which he succumbed in less than thirty minutes.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Smith of the Winterset circuit, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Way, after which the body was interred in the Winterset cemetery.
Four children, a brother, a nephew and a son-in-law were among the near relatives in attendance at the funeral.
Mr. Hall was a most excellent neighbor as is attested by those who made his acquaintance in the community in which he lived. He was an earnest christian worker a kind and loving husband, an indulgent father and an exemplary citizen. He leaves behind the record of a life devoted largely to the happiness and well being of his fellow man and a host of friends who will ever remember him for words of kindly encouragement and generous deeds which have added to the sum of human joy.
