J. A. Evans, former Madison county citizen and editor, died at his home in northwestern Nebraska last week. He grew to manhood in Madison county and was educated here. He became editor of the Winterset Mirror when he bought The Beacon Light, a greenback paper published by Ham Kautzman and changed its name to The Mirror. He sold the paper after two or three years and moved to Nebraska. He has many relatives living in Madison county.
