Winterset, IowaHENRY COLLINS OF WINTERSET DIES
Henry R. Collins of near Winterset died Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Memorial hospital here. He was 80 years of age.
Mr. Collins had been a resident of Madison county the last 21 years. During his active years, he served as office manager for a coal mining company.
He was a native of Maryville, Mo., where he was born June 23, 1890, a son of William and Catherine Hoover Collins. He was married at Quincy, Ill., on Sept. 2, 1908.
He is survived by his wife, of Winterset; a son, Henry R. Collins, Jr., of Winterset; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, S. S. Collins of Omaha and L. D. Collins of California; and two sisters, Rose and Gladys, both of California.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. E. E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in Glendale cemetery at Des Moines.
