We learn that Daniel Shawver was killed about four miles northeast of St. Charles last week. He was hauling logs and his wagon upset, throwing him against an embankment, the load of logs falling on him. His body was badly multilated (mutilated). He lived only about two hours. He was 33 years of age and leaves a wife and one child.
