On last Friday morning a young man by the name of Robert Tucker, residing in Madison township, started to Adair county to hunt for land, and attempted to cross Middle River at Paris' mill eight miles south of Stuart, missed the track and got into the river and was drowned. The horses were saved after swimming the river three times with the running gears of the wagon. His body was recovered and the funeral took place Sunday.
