FORMER RESIDENT OF KASSON PASSED

Mrs. Ella Vert Died Last Week at Home in Lorimor

Mrs. Ella J. Vert, a long-time resident of the Kasson neighborhood, died at her home in Lorimor Jan. 15, at the age of 81 years.

Mrs. Vert was the former Ella King, daughter of William and Mary King and was born Jan. 1, 1864 in Menard county, Ill. When she was a few months old she came with her parents to Madison county where most of her life was spent.

On June 12, 1883 she was married to Oscar Vert. They lived near Kasson for many years, later moving to Lorimor where her death occurred. Mr. Vert had died in 1938.

Mrs. Vert is survived by one son, Carl Vert of Lorimor; two grandsons; one great grandson; a brother, W. W. King of Bonesteele, S. D. and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hannon of Orient. Her only daughter, Jennie Fay, died at the age of 15 years.

Funeral services were held Jan. 17, from the Lorimor Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. J. E. England. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.

Mrs. Ella Vert Rites Tomorrow at Lorimor

LORIMOR – Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Methodist church in Lorimor for Mrs. Ella Vert, 81, who died at 7:15 o’clock Sunday evening at her home.

Surviving are a son, Carl, two grandsons and a great grandson. Her husband died Jan. 20, 1938.

Lorimor

Mr. and Mrs. Arlie McMains and Lois Rogers of Des Moines attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Ella Vert, Wednesday.

Loyd Hannan of Atlanta, Ia., attended the funeral of his aunt, Mrs. Ella Vert, and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Hannan, returned home with him after spending many weeks helping care for her sister, Mrs. Vert.
