Page 1Mrs. August Nitzsche Dies
Elwina Nitzsche, long-time resident of Monroe township, died at her home near Kasson, Friday Nov. 4th (1938) after an extended illness. She was 66 years of age.
Mrs. Nitzsche was a daughter of William and Minnie Thurman and was born in Wilks county, Illinois, Sept. 13, 1872. On September 18, she and Mr. Nitzsche were married. She is survived by her husband and their two sons and daughter and a son by a previous marriage, William Nitzsche of Lorimor, Elmer Nitzsche of Lansing, Michigan, Mrs. Cora Sherman of Iowa City and George West of Ferintash, Alberta Canada. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, two sisters and a half brother.
In February 1908 the Nitzsches moved to their farm one mile north of Kasson where they have since resided.
The Rev. M. D. Summerbell conducted her funeral services at the Lorimor Methodist church Sunday, Nov. 6 and burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
