Mrs. Amariah Cummins, a long time resident and one of the oldest persons in this part of the county, passed away on Saturday, January 5th at the age of 84 years.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Union church on Monday, and burial was at the Clark cemetery. The deceased was mother of 9 children, 4 of whom are living.

Transcriber's note: Transcribed as published. Her gravestone says she was the wife of "James Cummins". Amariah was their son with whom she lived in Madison county for 30+ years.
