Funeral Services Held in Winterset, Burial in Colorado
Mrs. Robert S. Herrick, wife of the widely known Iowa horticulturist, died Thursday March 6 at their home northwest of Bevington. Mrs. Herrick had been bedfast for more than three years. She was 68 years of age.
Mrs. Herrick was the former Laura Pease, and was born July 29, 1883 at Shell Rock. She was living at Littleton, Colo., when she was married to Robert Herrick on Dec. 18, 1913. They started their married life at Ames, where Mr. Herrick was serving as extension horticulturist for Iowa State College. In 1920 when he was named secretary of the Iowa State Horticultural Society, they moved to Des Moines, living there until they retired to the farm near Bevington several years ago.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals in charge of the Rev. Clement Loehr. Burial was made at Littleton, Colo.
