DOUBLE FUNERAL AT NEVINVILLE CHURCH

Double funeral services were held last Friday from the Methodist church at Nevinville for Russell L. Wolfe and his 8-year-old son, Charles, both of whom were drowned May 28, while fishing near LaJunta, Colo. Services also had been held at LaJunta last Wednesday.

Officiating at the services in Nevilville was the Rev. Robert W. Swick of Creston. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery there.

Mr. Wolfe was born Oct. 16, 1912 at Macksburg, a son of Alpha and Floetta Herren Wolfe. His early life was spent in that community, but he later moved to Greenfield with his parents and graduated from Greenfield high school with the class of 1932.

He was married Jan. 1, 1936, to Velma Hoskins of Orient. For the next 15 years they farmed near Nevinville but in 1951 moved with their two children to Colorado.

Charles Wolfe, the second victim of drowning, was the adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wolfe. He was born at Boone, Ia, on March 9, 1977. He was baptized in the Methodist church at Nevinville and was just finishing second grade at Park school in LaJunta when he met his death.

Mr. Wolfe is survived by his wife, Velma; a small daughter, Alice; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alpha Wolfe of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Young of Earlham and Esther Wolfe of Tempe, Ariz.
