George Hartman, of South, is dead. His disease was dropsy.

Geo. Hartman, an old resident of South Tp., died last week of dropsy. He was one of the oldest residents of the county, and one of two parties assisting in laying out the town of St. Charles.

He was a true philanthropist, always assisting the poor and needy, giving of his possessions to a large degree. In his death the county loses an exemplary, good citizen.
