Omer Joseph "Joe" Dubuc, 68, of Winterset died of complications of cancer Saturday at Des Moines General Hospital. No services are planned. The family will greet friends from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at the Dubuc residence, 1729 Pammel Park Road in Winterset.

Mr. Dubuc was born in Pawtucket, R.I., and had lived in Winterset the past two years. Prior to that, he had lived in California, where he was an electrician with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for 34 years. During those years, he also spent time in Winterset. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Creston Elks Lodge, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union and the USS Hamner Association of Veterans.

Survivors include a son, Barry of Porterville, Calif.; a daughter, Michelle Guest of Winterset; a brother, Brian of Statesboro, Ga.; two sisters, Alice Poling of La Habra, Calif., and Penny Houde of Attleboro, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions will be used for the purchase and planting of trees in Madison County. Caldwell-Raddatz Hickman Chapel in Urbandale is handling arrangements.
