Maxine Clarke, 75, of Winterset died of a kidney ailment Wednesday at Madison County Hospital there. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles cemetery in St. Charles.

Mrs. Clarke was born in Earlham and moved to Winterset three years ago from St. Charles. She was a former salesclerk with JC Penney and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Charles.

Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Clarke of Clive; and two sisters, Alma Rotschafer of West Des Moines and Margaret Jordan of Nevada.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
