Death of Charles Stickler

Charles Stickler, a former resident of Madison county, died at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Tuesday, February 11th. Mr. Stickler was operated upon for goiter on Monday morning and pneumonia developed causing his death. Mr. Stickler who was about 54 years of age, was born and raised in this county, being a son of L. L. Stickler.

He moved to Des Moines a number of years ago, however, and was a retired member of the city fire department, having served as a fireman for 22 years.

Funeral services for Mr. Stickler are being held this afternoon, (Thursday) at Lilly's funeral home in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife and three brothers, Walter and Harry, of Des Moines and A. P. Stickler of Altoona. He also leaves his stepmother, Mrs. E. J. Stickler of Winterset. The deceased was a member of the Masonic and Moose lodges.
