HENRIETTA PRATHER PASSED LAST WEEK

Succumbs on Wednesday at Home of Sister Near Winterset

Mrs. Henrietta Prather, a woman widely known in this community died on Wednesday of last week at the home of her sister, Mrs. T. J. Campbell of Scott township, where she had lived for the past several years. She was 73 years of age.

Mrs. Prather was the former Henrietta Kirk, daughter of John B. and Charlotte Kirk and was born near Winterset on May 16, 1866. As a young woman she united with the Church of Christ in Winterset and her close association with the church continued throughout her life.

She was married in 1894 to Charles Reynolds of Des Moines. Mr. Reynolds died in 1911. She subsequently was married to S. D. Prather of Prole. After the latter's death in 1924, Mrs. Prather made her home in Winterset.

During her residence in Winterset, Mrs. Prather was affiliated with Kinsman post of the W.R.C. in which she took an active part in the activities.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Campbell; a niece, Mrs. Maude Vierling; and a half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Bliss of Salem, Ore.

Funeral services were conducted last Saturday from the Winterset Church of Christ by the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the Glendale cemetery at Des Moines.
