LAST RITES HELD FOR BARNEY AGENT

Last rites for Thomas M. Fisher, a life-long resident of the Barney community, were held last Thursday, April 28, from the Barney church.

Mr. Fisher died April 25 at Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 78 years of age.

A depot agent for the Chicago Great Western railroad at Barney for many years, Mr. Fisher, was born near Barney on August 18, 1877.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Lorimor.

In October of 1904, he married Nellie Reed. They were the parents of seven children, all of whom survive. They are Mabel Rudd of Des Moines, Ruth Hann of Vallejo, Calif., Madaline at home, Levi of Macksburg, Warren of Crockett, Calif., Ray of Wilbur, Wash., and David of Des Moines.

Officiating at the services last Thursday was the Rev. C. M. Rowe of Macksburg. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
