April 16, 1931Death of Joe Longnecker
Joe Longnecker, a former resident of this county, died at his home in Arispie, Friday, April 10, after an illness of three weeks with flu and pneumonia. Mr. Longnecker who was 77 years of age had lived in Union county for the past twenty years, but previous to that had lived for many years in this county.
He leaves his wife, four sons, and one daughter; Charles and Clarence of Winterset, George and Ira at Creston and Mrs. Inis Smith at Arispie.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 12 at the Methodist church in Arispie and burial was made in the Afton cemetery.
