FORREST HANN DIED ON TUESDAY

Former Winterset Resident Stricken by Heart Attack

Forrest Hann, former Winterset resident, who has been living in Greene, died at the Charles City hospital Tuesday morning, February 8th at the age of 60 years. Mr. Hann suffered a severe heart attack last Friday and was taken to the hospital for treatment; it was thought he was recuperating satisfactorily but death came suddenly yesterday morning.

Mr. Hann had owned and operated the Hann funeral home in Greene for the past 15 years. His funeral services will be at the home Friday February 11th at 1 p.m. and graveside rites and burial will be at the Resthaven cemetery in Des Moines that afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

The deceased was born in this community, October 18, 1894; he was a son of J. M. and Roxy Jane Dudney Hann. He attended the Winterset schools and was associated with J. A. Ramsey in his furniture store and undertaking business for several years. He was married to Miss Iona Poland, also of Winterset, on January 1, 1920 and they made their home here until 1927. They then moved to Des Moines where he was a salesman for a casket company until they bought the funeral home in Greene in 1940.

He is survived by his widow and their daughter, Mrs. Barbara Dawson of Wilton Junction. He also leaves two brothers and a sister of this community; Walter and Styles Hann, and Mrs. Ben Hartsook. A brother Melvin Hann preceded him in death.
