VETERAN WINTERSET RESIDENT DIED FRIDAY

N. B. Whitt Succumbs at Age of 89 Years; Funeral Held Sunday

Napoleon B. Whitt, a resident of Winterset and vicinity since shortly after the Civil War, died at his home here last Friday, at the age of 89 years.

Mr. Whitt was a native of Missouri, where he was born July 23, 1850. His fiather died in the Civil war, and about two years after the close of that conflict his mother brought her family to Iowa. Since that time Mr.Whitt's home had been in or near Winterset.

Mr. Whitt was baptized in the Baptist church.

On July 5, 1898, he was married to Martha White, who survives him. He also leaves a sister, Hannah White, of Lewiston, Ida., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. L. F. Davis of Winterset. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery north of Winterset.
