On Tuesday occurred the death of Richard Wroe, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of this community, at the ripe old age of 73. He had been in failing health for sometime, and his decline was gradual until death came. The funeral occurred at the Friends Church Wednesday, at 2 o’clock, and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. The pall bearers were men who had been in the employ of the diseased by the year at different times during his life, and were the following persons: Joel Barnett, J. R. Mendenhall, Wm. Kenworthy, Jos. Knox, Jas. Alexander and Jno. Foster. After the services the remains were interred in North Branch cemetery. We will endeavor to furnish an obituary in next week’s correspondence.
