Elmer C. Cameron, 63, of Osceola, died of cancer April 18, 2002 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Dwayne Henrichs and Gene Leeper officiating. Burial was at Van Wert Cemetery.
Elmer Cameron was born April 25, 1938 in Guthrie County to Alvin Robert and Alta Emily (Brown) Cameron. He spent his earlier life in Patterson graduating from Patterson High School. ON June 7, 1959 he married Shirley L. Loomis at the Patterson United United Methodist Church. Elmer was owner and operator of Cameron Construction. In 1988 he moved to Osceola. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osceola and a past member of the National Guard (1956-63).
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Osceola; two daughters, Peggy Speakman (husband Stanley) of Princeton, Mo., and Cindy Horney (husband Dennis) of Leon; three sons, Gene Cameron (wife Jody) of Osceola and Alvin Cameron (wife Debbie) and Bill Cameron (wife Peggy) both of Chillicothe, Mo.; two sisters, Alice Blair of Lorimor and Mary McConnellee of Winterset; and seven grandchildren.
