Ruby E. Bevis, Bevington

Ruby E. Bevis, 85, of Bevington died of cancer Feb. 1, 2002 at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Sunday Feb. 3, at Dunn's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will take place at a later date at Rising Sun New Cemetery, in Rising Sun. Ind.

Ruby Bevis was born March 19, 1916 in Rush County, Ind., to Jess and Florence Johnson. A homemaker, she had resided at her daughter's rural Bevington home for the past five and one-half years. Ruby had previously lived in Osgood, Ind., (30 years) and Harrison, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Bevis, 12 siblings; and a daughter.

She is survived by a daughter, Florence Colby of Bevington; a son, Walter Willoughby of Phelan, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
