EZRA GILBERT RITES AT MACKSBURG SATURDAY

Death Occurred Thursday; Burial Made in Moon Cemetery

Funeral services for Ezra E. Gilbert were held last Saturday from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. D. Summerbell, and burial was made in the Moon cemetery.

Mr. Gilbert's death occurred last Thursday, at the age of 78 years. He was the son of Elias and Mary Gilbert, and was born April 14, 1862, in Marion county.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter. Surviving are four sons, Sylvester Gilbert of Beaconsfield, William and Charles Gilbert of Creston, and Glen Gilbert of Mission Hill, S.D.; six daughters, Mrs. Etta McMillan of Beaconsfield, Mrs. C. W. Davis, Mrs. Homer Green and Mrs. D. M. Butts of Thayer, Mrs. Ves Reynolds of Newton, and Mrs. Harvey Lauer of Creston; and two brothers, Truman Gilbert of Menlo and Charles Gilbert of Macksburg.

Ezra E. Gilbert, 78, Dies in Pleasant Twp.; Rites To Be Tomorrow

Ezra E. Gilbert, 78, died at 7:40 last night at his home in Pleasant township. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow at the Methodist church in Macksburg with burial in the cemetery there.

Mr. Gilbert was born April 14, 1862 in Marion county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Gilbert. He was married to Alpha Campbell, who died July 25, 1937.

Surviving are ten children, William Gilbert, Charles Gilbert and Lorna Lauer of Creston, Etta McMillion and Sylvester Gilbert of Beaconsfield, Pearl Davis of Talmage, Lula Reynolds of Newton, Glen Gilbert of Irene, S. Dak., Lora Green of Thayer and Mrs. Dave Butts of Afton.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Gilbert Rites Held At Macksburg Today

Funeral services for Ezra E. Gilbert, 78, Pleasant township resident who died Thursday, were held at the Methodist church in Macksburg at 2:30 p. m. today. Burial was in the cemetery there.

Funeral services for Ezra Ellsworth Gilbert, 78, who died Thursday, were held at the Methodist church in Macksburg Saturday in charge of the Rev. M. D. Summerbell with burial in the Moon cemetery. He was born in Marion county, April 14, 1862.

Surviving are four sons, Sylvester of Beaconsfield, William and Charles of Creston, and Glen of Mission Hill, S. Dak.; six daughters, Mrs. Etta McMillion of Beaconsfield, Mrs. C. W.
