MRS. CLARA CAMPBELL OF MACKSBURG PASSES

Elderly Resident Died Last Thursday at Winterset Hospital

Mrs. Clara J. Campbell, a resident of the Macksburg neighborhood for 40 years, died at the Winterset hospital last Thursday. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Campbell was the former Clara J. Romine, daughter of Wilfred and Susan Romine, and was born at Youngstown, Ill., April 23, 1870. On May 4, 1890, she was married to David L. Campbell. They came to Iowa in December of 1889 (typed as printed) and had lived near Macksburg since that time.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret M. Brown of Osceola, and Mrs. Lena M. Simpson of Macksburg; four sons, Lester E. Campbell of Des Moines, Harvey Carl Campbell of Winterset, Lennie M. Campbell of Jamestown, N. Dak., and Glen E. Campbell of Macksburg; five sisters and three brothers, all living in Illinois; 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A daughter, Bessie, a son, Jesse, and one sister, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held from the Macksburg Methodist church last Saturday in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
