Former Resident Succumbed at His Home in Little Rock, Ark.
Funeral services for Alvin Thornbrugh, member of a pioneer Madison county family, who died at his home in Little Rock, Ark., of a heart attack, were held here Sunday.
The rites were conducted from the Anderson home for funerals in charge of the Rev. C. P. Shepard, pastor of the Earlham Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Thornbrugh was 57 years of age at his death. He was born in this county, and attended the Buffalo school south of Winterset. For many years he was employed by the Rock Island railroad, and was division car service supervisor at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Ada; four daughters, Mrs. Ray Strait of Des Moines, Mrs. Don Hiatt of Hollywood, Cal., and Mrs. J. P. Powers and Iris Thornbrugh of Little Rock. He also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Lewis Eynon of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Gideon Cook, Mrs. L. M. Fetters and Mrs. Fred Wilcox of Des Moines; two brothers, Lester and Lloyd Thornbrugh of Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
