J. A. NICHOLL DIES

St. Charles, Special, June 9th--

J. A. Nicholl passed away Friday evening in a hospital in Webster City where he had been the past three weeks, although he had been in very poor health for two years.

He was 55 years old and with the exception of the last few years had lived his life in this vicinity. He was a brother of Mrs. C. L. Sheets and Miss Mary Nicholl of St. Charles, and Robert Nicholl of Wick.

He is survived by his wife and four children of Webster City, and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Douglas by a former marriage, living near St. Charles.

Funeral services were held in Webster City Monday afternoon with burial there.

Funeral Services for Stratford Farmer to Be at Foster’s.

James Andrew Nicholl, 55, a farmer living in the Stratford community, died at the hospital at 11:15 p.m. yesterday. He had been in poor health since he suffered a stroke two years ago. He had been at the hospital since May 19 area

Funeral services will be held at the Foster funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. J. J. Share officiating, and burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.

He was born May 20, 1886, on a farm near St. Charles, Iowa. He was married April 19, 1930, to Myrtle Staley, of this city, who survives him.

Since their marriage they had lived on farms in Wright and Hamilton counties. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He leaves five children: Mrs. Helen Douglas, St. Charles Emma, David, Lester and James, at home. There is one granddaughter, as well as two sisters, Mary Nicholl and Mrs. Chester Sheets, of St. Charles, and a brother Robert, of Wick.

He was baptized in the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Methodist church.
