FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN CHICAGO

Mrs. Emil Nelson, Former Bertha Hindman of This County

Mrs. Emil Nelson, a native of Madison county, died May 8 at her home in Chicago, it was learned here last week. She was 66 years of age.

Mrs. Nelson was the former Bertha Blanche Hindman, daughter of Samuel and Margaret Hindman, who were pioneer residents of this county. She was born here Sept. 13, 1877.

She was married on Sept. 22, 1897 to George Smith, who died a few years later. They were the parents of two sons, Clarence and Maurice.

On May 31, 1936, she was married to Emil Nelson of Chicago who survives her.

In addition to her husband she leaves her two sons, Pfc. Maurice Smith of the U. S. Marines and Clarence Smith; two stepsons, Sgt. Roy Nelson of the U. S. Army and Sgt. Harry Nelson of the U. S. Army; three grandsons, two granddaughters; and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Dora Cox of Des Moines, Stanley Hindman of Winterset, Mrs. Grace Finney of Winterset, Mrs. Edna Dodd of Collins, Mrs. Lulu Dodd of Johnston, Neb., Nelson Hindman of Newton, Mrs. Aletha DeWitt of Eldora, and Samuel Hindman of Denver, Colo.
