W. A. QUICK DIES AT DES MOINES

Spent Active Life As Farmer in Scott Township of This County

William A. Quick of Patterson died at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines Sunday Jan. 24. Mr. Quick had been overcome by carbon monoxide fumes while working on his car inside his garage on Dec. 22 and had been in serious condition since that time. He was 84 years of age.

Mr. Quick was born at DeWitt in Clinton county on Nov. 22, 1869 but had been a resident of Madison county for 73 years. He lived on the same farm in Scott township all those years, until he retired and moved into Patterson five years ago. His health had been failing since last August.

He is survived by his wife, the forer Mabel Victoria Lyon whom he married at Winterset on March 8, 1899. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Della Howell of Des Moines; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles A. Quick of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset conducted by the Rev. Eldon Hayworth of St. Charles and Patterson. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
