ROLLAND ABRAHAM MCNALL

Rolland Abraham McNall, the son of David W. and Naomi H. McNall was born July 22, 1878 at Middle Point, Ohio. He attended the public school. He graduated from Western Ohio Normal school with a B. S. degree and from Ohio Northern University with a B. S. degree. He attended the Rochester College taking business administration and in 1913 attended the Omaha Theological seminary.

He taught business courses in Kentucky public schools and in the Earlham Academy. He also filled several pastorates. These were at Elk Falls, Kansas; Vail, Iowa; University Place, Nebraska; Marne, Iowa; Fulda Falls, Minnesota and Stanton, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Leva Nanny Swanson of Earlham July 12, 1919 at Newton. He is survived by his wife, Leva, a sister, Goldie McNall, Van Wert, Ohio, a son, Victor by a former marriage and four grandchildren of Van Wert, Ohio.

Rolland A. McNall Funeral Held Sunday

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. for Rolland A. McNall who died at the Winterset Memorial hospital January 14, following a severe stroke he suffered several weeks ago.

Many years ago Mr. McNall was a teacher in the Earlham Academy. Upon his retirement as a Presbyterian minister he returned to Earlham to make his home. Two of his hobbies were weather observation and gardening. For many years he contributed a column on each of these subjects for the Echo. McNall’s Corner which reported rainfall, temperature and forcast each week had a wide following.

The services were in charge of Rev. Donald E. Freeman. Wm. F. Price, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Earl Schalkle. The casket bearers were Russell Ralston, Sheldon Strong, Earl Schalkle, Marion Compton, B. G. Harris and Frank Hill. Burial was in the Earlham Cemetery.
