Gorham Palmer, a long-time resident of Madison county, died Tuesday night at his farm home in Jackson township after a long period of failing health. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Palmer had spent practically all his life in this county, living for many years in Walnut township. He leaves a wife and several sons.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Friday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home here in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial will be made in the Barney cemetery.

Funeral Services Will Be Held Friday Afternoon At Two O’clock.
Gorham Palmer, 75 years of age, died Tuesday evening at his home in Jackson township, following two years of ill health.
Mr. Palmer was born February 5, 1866 in Parkman, Maine and at the age of two, came with his parents to Madison county, where he had made his home with the exception of a few years in North Dakota.
He was married July 4, 1888 to Ida White of Ringgold county, in Mount Ayr. They were the parents of eight children, four daughters and four sons, two daughters dying in infancy.
The surviving relatives are his wife, two daughters; Mrs. Casper Cox of Winterset and Mrs. Roy Hiskey of Jameson, Missouri; four sons, James, Gorham, Jr., Clarence and Lawrence all of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Gilbert of Winterset, sister, Savanna Whitworth and a brother, Brady Palmer, living in Canada.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon in the Ramsey–Richards funeral home at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in the Barney cemetery.
