Ethel Irene Loomis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Loomis, was born in Clarke county, June 14, 1879. She died at her home in Clarke county, January 20, 1938, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 6 days. She spent her girlhood in Clarke county, and was united in marriage to Louis M. Sullivan, on October 16, 1901.

They lived for a short time in Iowa and Missouri then moved to Nebraska where they lived until 1925. Then they returned to Iowa, where she spent the remainder of her life.

To this union four children were born, one of whom preceded her in death. The living are Harold C., James E., and Velma Jones all of Truro.

She joined the church at Union in girlhood. As a friend and neighbor, she was sympathetic, kind and helpful. Her home and the welfare of her loved ones was the greatest pleasure.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, 3 children, and 8 grandchildren, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and many other relatives and friends.
