DEATH OF J. G. VANATTA

St. Charles Special, November 19.

J. G. Vanatta, a long time resident of St. Charles passed away Friday evening, November 13th. Mr. Vanatta had been in poor health for several months. He had been some better and was able to be out a part of the time, but became much worse last Thursday night. He would have celebrated his 80th birthday in January. Mr. Vanatta was well known, having been in the ministry more or less for the past several years.

He is survived by his wife and eight children, D. W. Vanatta of Grand View Missouri; Earl of Des Moines; Mrs. Ivy Carpenter of Beech; Mrs. Lora Nichols of Texas; Mrs. Flora Cox and Mrs. Grace Berg of Orange, California, and Willis of Ontario, California. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held -----day at 11 o'clock at the Methodist church, conducted by the Reverend C. W. Proctor of Manilla, a former pastor at St. Charles.
