OBITUARY OF SARAH O. KINKENNON

Sarah Olive Kinkennon was born March 5, 1918 in Van Wert, Iowa to Wesley and Margaret Collins and passed away on September 7, 1987 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Olive was united in marriage to Leo Kinkennon on February 27, 1937 and made their home in Earlham. To this union were born two sons, Harley Thomas, who died in infancy and Jack Leo of Earlham.

She had been confined to her home since 1976 and had spent this last year in the Skilled Care Facility at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Olive was a member of the United Methodist Church in Earlham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son and three sisters, Freida Cook, Louise Barnett and infant Evangeline.

Survivors include her husband Leo, son Jack and wife Veda of Earlham, a foster son Richard Barnett of Earlham and five grandchildren. Also, two sisters, Bernice Tharp of Des Moines, Ruby Chapman of Adel; three brothers, Roy of Des Moines, Harley of Beaverton, Oregon and Dean of Newport, North Carolina.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 10, 1987 at McKee Funeral Home, Earlham, Iowa with Pastor Earl Menning officiating. Gretchen Brittain provided organ music and Ann Trapp was soloist. Pallbearers were Nelson Bond, James Price, Dale Von Rentzell, Joe Trapp, Frank Inman and John Groves. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
