GEORGE McDANIEL DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Funeral services were held Feb. 19 from the St. Charles Methodist church for George McDaniel, whose death had occurred Feb. 15 at his home in Hanley.

Mr. McDaniel was 77 years of age. He was born on a farm near Winterset Feb. 28, 1880, a son of Allen and Jane McDaniel. He was married Nov. 10, 1926, to Agnes Geitner. His life was spent in Madison and Warren counties. He was a blacksmith by trade, having operated shops in Truro, New Virginia and St. Charles. In later years he engaged in farming.

Surviving are his wife, Agnes; a son, Carl McDaniel of Milen, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Leota Daniels of Des Moines, Mrs. Cora Edwards of Bethany, Mo., and Mrs. Garnetta Anderson of Neenah, Wisc.; a step-son, Richard Geitner of Grant City, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Miller and Mrs. May Carter, both of St. Charles; two brothers, Lennie and Early McDaniel, both of Elliott, N. Dak.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
