MRS. J. A. RAMSEY DIED TUESDAY

Death Occurs After Extended Illness at Age of 83 Years

Mrs. Joseph A. Ramsey, a well known Winterset resident for 60 years died at her hom in Winterset Tuesday, Feb. 7 after several years of failing health. She was 83 years of age.

Mrs. Ramsey was the widow of the prominent Winterset mortician and business man whose death occurred last April.

A native of Alta, Ia., Mrs. Ramsey was the former Gertrude C. Kelso, daughter of Henry and Hattie Herren Kelso. She was born at Alta on Dec. 15, 1877.

Most of her life was spent in Winterset, where her husband served as a funeral director for a period of 44 years, prior to his retirement in 1947. They were married in Kansas City on Nov. 29, 1905.

Mrs. Ramsey's closest living relatives are three cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; and by a brother.

Funeral services will be held this Friday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
