OBITUARY

Pearl Alice Bundy, daughter of David and Josephine Bundy, was born on November 11, 1877, on a farm in Jackson township, Hancock county, near Greenfield, Indiana. She was a birthright member of the Society of Friends. In that community she attended the rural schools and grew to young womanhood. Later she moved to New Castle, Indiana.

In the early 1920's she married Edward L. Hole, and shortly afterward they moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where they made their home for several years. From there they went to Friendswood, Texas. During her residence there Pearl Alice was very active in church, club and community work. For a number of years she was president of the Federated Clubs of Galveston county. She was also an active member of the Republican Women's Club in Houston, Texas, and was well known in that city as well as in the whole of Galveston county.

In 1947 the Holes sold their fig ranch at Friendswood and prepared to move to a property in west Earlham, which they had previously bought. In the midst of these preparations, Edward Hole suffered a heart attack and suddenly died. A few weeks later Pearl Alice and their small adopted daughter, Patalea, came to Earlham, where with the exception of short sojourns in Montana and Texas, they have since made their home. She became a member of the Friends church in Earlham.

On June 17, 1949, she was married to T. A. Gibson of Kalispell, Montana.

She suffered a stroke in the early morning of March 12, 1959, and was taken to the Winterset hospital, where she died shortly after her arrival. She was preceded in death by infant twin brothers and a brother, Joe Bundy, who died in NOvember of the past years. She leaves her daughter, Patalea, a sister-in-law, Maude Bundy, several nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins and friends.

The funeral services was held at the local Friends church on Saturday, March 14, at 2:00 o'clock. The pastor, L. Willard Reynolds, was in charge. Music was furnished by Loyd Cook, soloist, and a quartette consisting of Carol Thomas, Mildred Maxwell, Floyd Wilson and Russell Hester. Gertrude Conrad was organist. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
