Page 6Death of Mrs. Gus Corwin
Funeral services for Mrs. Gus Corwin were held at Tidrick’s funeral home, Sunday, August 31st, at 2:30 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Rev. H. L. Olmstead was in charge of the services. Mrs. Corwin formerly lived in Winterset, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ford. She was thirty-five years of age, and had been ill during the last year. She has resided in Des Moines since her marriage in 1924.
Mrs. Corwin had nervous trouble, and started receiving treatment about a year ago. She was in the Des Moines hospitals but no progress was made from treatment.
The deceased is survived by her husband, her parents, and four brothers and two sisters: Roy and Guy Ford, of Winterset; Clair, of Des Moines, Fred of Kansas City, Mrs. Pearl Gillman, of Palmer, Colorado, and Mrs. Elwood Bertholf of Winterset. Cecil Corwin daughter of Richard and Mary Ford, was born in Madison County, Iowa, January 17, 1895, and passed away after a years illness on August 28, 1930. Her girlhood days were spent in Madison County.
On February 24, 1924 she was united in marriage to Gus Corwin of Des Moines. Since her marriage her home has been in Des Moines.
She leaves to mourn her departure a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ford, of Winterset, her husband, Gus Corwin, of Des Moines, four brothers, Roy and Guy of Winterset, Clare of Des Moines and Fred of Kansas City, and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Gillman of Palmer, Colorado, and Mrs. Elwood Bertholf, of Winterset.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. H. L. Olmsted were held at 2:30 Sunday, Burial made in the Winterset cemetery.
