THURMAN CLARK DIES AT 70 YEARS

Death Ends Years of Failing Health for Life-Long Resident

Thurman Clark of Winterset, a well known retired farmer of this community, died Thursday, June 4, at Memorial hospital here, after several years of failing health. He was 70 years of age.

Mr. Clark was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born here July 4, 1888, a son of Benjamin and Nancy Clark. As a young man he was married to Louise Butler. She preceded him in death in 1932. On June 29, 1939 he was married to Minnie Jensen, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves the five children by the first marriage. They are: Mrs. Geraldine McDonald and David Clark of Winterset, Duncan Clark of Kansas City, Mo., Charles Clark of Dexter, and Mrs. Grace Orcutt of Story City.

He also leaves 13 grandchildren; two brothrs, Ivor and Charles Clark of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Caudle of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made in the McDonald cemetery.
