Altabelle Hochstetler, 77, Winterset, died at the Care Center South in Winterset on February 14. Her body was cremated and the ashes buried at the Dexter Cemetery. A private memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Hochstetler was born in Lost Nation, Iowa on February 8, 1913, the daughter of George and Rosa Wynn Armstrong. She was a homemaker and was married to Clifford L. Hochstetler on September 30, 1934 at Guthrie Center.

She had lived in Winterset since 1977 after coming from the Stuart area. She graduated from Stuart High School in 1930.

Survivors include sons, Clifford Jr. of Stuart, William of Norwalk, Mary L. Bunnell of Dexter, and Barbara Travis of Downey, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandchild and an infant sister.
