PFC. GLEN JOHNSON KILLED IN ACTION

Pfc. Glen Johnson of Adel, formerly of Winterset, was killed in action April 14 in Italy, according to word received Monday at Adel.

Private Johnson was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Johnson, and was born July 21, 1915, at Winterset. He lived here, and attended school until the fall of 1933, when the family moved to Algona.

On Oct. 16, 1937, he was married to Miss Alice Weiss of Algona. In 1942, he moved with his family to Adel, and was employed in the Ankeny Ordinance plant. He entered the armed services last May. He received his training at Camp Roberts, Calif., and Camp Swift, Tex. Last December he was sent overseas to the Italian front.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Charles, Junior and Judy Kay; his parents; and four sisters, Mrs. Mae Wettering and Mrs. Doris Munson of Waterloo, Mrs. Fae Rich of Algona, and Mrs. Velma Jorgenson of Adel.
