Albert H. Decker, a former resident of Madison county, died at a Des Moines hospital Thursday, Oct. 3. He had been ill with cancer for eight months.
Mr. Decker was 67 years of age. He was born June 6, 1890, at Stuart, a son of Elmer and Jennie Cornell Decker. He graduated from Guthrie Center high school and attended Drake university in Des Moines. Most of his active life was spent as a livestock herdsman, farm manager and in selling livestock feeds. From 1918 to 1930 he was herdsman for the Kelleher Polled Hereford herd in Madison county. His last employment was as a feed salesman for Frey Hatchery in Winterset.
Survivors include his wife, Effie; four sons, Alton of Thayer, Lloyd of Modesto, Calif., Russell of Bowling Green, O., and Wayne of Columbia, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Walter McEwen of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Hayes of Guthrie Center; and 14 grandchildren.
