Winterset, IowaSIDNEY DELAPLAIN DIES AT JEFFERSON
Native of Peru Had Been Living Recently at Macksburg
Sidney D. Delaplain, formerly of the Peru community, died Oct. 16 at the Greene county hospital in Jefferson. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Delaplain was the son of Owen and Jane Delaplain, and was born in Peru Aug. 23, 1871. He was married March 7, 1897, to Lunette Foster of Peru. They lived in Madison county until 1919, when they moved to Greene county where he remained until February, 1944. Since then he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. E. H. Rhoads of Macksburg. His wife died in 1934.
He is survived by four children, Clayton Delaplain of Bagley, Mrs. Rhoads of Macksburg, Mrs. Bernice Cox of Callender, and Mrs. Edrie Hoyt of Bagley; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Manz of Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted from the Slininger funeral home at Jefferson by the Rev. Garold Nolan of Bagley. Burial was made in Greenbrier cemetery at Bagley.
