ENOCH STRABLE OF BEVINGTON PASSES

Long-Time Resident There Succumbs to Heart Attack

Enoch Strable, one of Madison county's prominent farmers for many years, and one of the most substantial land owners in this part of the state, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday morning at his home just north of Bevington. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Strable, apparently in good health, had gone out to feed the chickens early Tuesday morning, and when he failed to return, his farm hand, Joe Fusner, went to look for him. The elderly man was found dead in the granary, victim of a heart attack.

Mr. Strable had spent most of his long life in the Bevington community. His wife, the former Lizzie Weil, died about three years ago.

He is survived by one brother, Frank Strable of near Bevington, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Smull and Mrs. Rena Shannon of St. Charles.

Funeral services were to be held this Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Catholic church at Churchville. Burial was to be made in the Churchville cemetery.
