ADAM WALSH PASSES AT COUNCIL BLUFFS

Native of Churchville, Lived in Winterset As Young Man

Adam Walsh, formerly of Winterset and member of a well-known family in the Churchville community, died at Council Bluffs Sunday after a long period of failing health. He was past 75 years of age.

Mr. Walsh was reared near Churchville and as a young man worked in Winterset. He was employed here first in the Rock Island depot, and later as a teller in the Citizens National bank. Much of his later life was spent in California.

He is survived by his wife, who was the former Stella Koehler of Winterset; three sons and three daughters. Two of his sons, Adam and Charles Walsh, were famous football players at Notre Dame university a few years ago, and at present Adam Walsh is a nationally known coach. The three daughters are Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. Maude Brown and Mrs. Irene Nolte all of Los Angeles.

He also leaves three brothers, John, Thomas, and Darby Walsh, and one sister, Mary Walsh, all of Churchville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Church of the Assumption in Churchville, and burial was made in the cemetery there.
