MRS. IRENE MALES TAKEN BY DEATH

Funeral Today for Local Woman, 81, Who Passed Away Monday Night at Her home.

Mrs. Irene Males, who would have been 82 years old next month, passed away late Monday night at her home in west Earlham. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Earlham Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. B. W. McEldowney, of Fontanelle, a former pastor. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

Death was due to a heart attack. Mrs. Males had been in ordinary health, though she recently recovered from an attack of influenza. She attended Sunday school and church last Sunday. Friends visiting her the next day found her ill in bed with what was believed to be acute indigestion. Her condition was not considered serious.

Late Monday night Miss Fern Coffman, who had been called in to care for Mrs. Males, noticed that her patient seemed much worse. She immediately called Mrs. Walter Price and a doctor was summoned a few minutes later. When the physician arrived Mrs. Males was beyond medical attention.
