SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. NELLIE FISHER

Well-Known Barney Woman Died May 2 at Local Hospital

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Olive Fisher of Barney, who died at the Winterset hospital May 2, were held on Wednesday of last week, at the Barney Christian church in charge of the Rev. M. D. Summelbell of Macksburg. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.

Mrs. Fisher was the former Nellie Olive Read, daughter of Alfred and Sabina Read, and was born near Neola, Iowa, on September 18, 1882. She was 54 years old at the time of her death.

She was married to Thomas M. Fisher on October 29, 1904. They were the parents of eight children: Warren Fisher of Oelwein, Mrs. Mabel Rudd of Des Moines, Levi Fisher of Macksburg, Roy Fisher of Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone, and David, Madeline and Ruth Fisher at home, and Glen who died in 1934.

In addition to the children she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Vincent Longshore of Johnstown, Colorado and Mrs. Pack Simpson of Winterset; a brother, Harry Read of Webster; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Fisher spent most of her life in this community. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Barney.
