Thursday, April 12, 1917MARGARET HARBER
The funeral of Miss Margaret Harber, a young girl who has spent a considerable of her later years in this city, was held here Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Haworth conducting a short service in the undertaking parlors, after which interment occurred at North Branch cemetery.
This life came to an end of Thursday at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines after an unequal struggle. The little girl, who was only a little 13 years of age, was frightfully burned at her home in Des Moines by the explosion of a can of gasoline which she undertook to pour on a burning fire. That anyone could survive the burns thus received was impossible, yet Margaret persisted for three weeks of agony.
She was born in Altoona, Pa. on the 8th of January, 1904. Besides her father and mother she leaves to mourn her untimely death a brother Alton Harber at home, and three sisters, Virginia at home and Mrs. Perry Henry Jacobson of Earlham.
